Millions of women have problems due to large breasts in our country and all around the world. Big and sagging breasts cause serious problems in women.
Larger and heavier breasts disrupt the physical appearance of the woman and cause neck, back and shoulder pain, disruption of normal upright posture, hunching, breathing problems, rubbing and sweating of the lower face of the breasts in contact with the abdominal skin, and rashes and fungal infections, leaves deep traces.
Larger breasts cause an unbalanced load on the spine, giving rise to the center of gravity, and even causing an unbalanced load distribution in all joints up to the ankle, which becomes a major problem, especially after the decrease in bone density after menopause.
Very big breasts may cause women to feel shy and timid. Movement restriction, difficulties in choosing clothes and efforts to hide breast size cause social and psychological problems in the patient. It is possible to get rid of this kind of problem caused by big and sagging breasts with breast reduction operation.
Even though breast reduction operations are aesthetic surgeries, there are some of them which are not performed for non-aesthetic purposes. Breast reduction operations are performed for physical relaxation rather than an aesthetic correction.
Especially those having physical problems depending on big breasts may feel relaxed after the operation. With this operation, fat, breast tissue and skin are removed and the breasts become smaller, lighter and tighter. During the same procedure, the diameter of the brown skin around the nipple called ‘areola’ can be reduced. The nipple can be lifted.
The aim is to enable the woman to have smaller breasts having a better shape and in proportion with the body.
The target of breast reduction and lift operation is to reduce the size of the breasts and to provide symmetrical and young breast look in proportion to body size and natural with minimal scars that can be hidden and to obtain long-lasting results.
The developments in Plastic Surgery techniques in recent years have been effective in breast aesthetic surgeries, and with advanced surgical techniques, the perimeter of the nipple and the minimum trace extending vertically from the nipple down to the nipple line provide the desired size and fullness, extremely upright and alive breast image.
If excess skin is left under the breast with this technique called vertical scar, this excess skin is removed with a small revision after 6 months. With the technique called inverted T, this excess skin is removed during the operation, it does not require revision operation but a long scar is left under the breasts.
With vertical scar technique, a long horizontal scar under the breast does not occur but around the nipple and downwards
