Scar Correction

Scars forming after an operation or accident can be treated. In our aesthetic surgeries, we use methods and suture materials which minimize the scar.

After the operation, we use bands to decrease the tension which is the biggest cause of the scar.

In addition, we benefit from some gels and creams even though their effect is less.

However, the size of the scar is depending on the location of the scar and recovery pattern of the patient.

Despite any measure, a small amount of scar will be left and this scar can be very visible such as hypertrophic scar or keloid.

Measures to decrease the scar:

  • Suture of the tissues by preventing tension and distribution of the pressure on this tissue
  • Avoiding open wound healing called infection and secondary recovery
  • Using quality suture material with a proper thickness
  • Decreasing collagen storage with water-proof, strong bands which will decrease tension
  • Proper wound care and massage
  • If necessary silicon gel or layers
  • Pressured clothes or corsets
  • Avoiding from ultraviolet
  • Avoiding smoking

What to do if scar forms:

  • Cream or gel to decrease the scar
  • Injections to decrease the scar
  • Dermabrasio chemical peeling
  • LASER
  • Scar revision (surgery)
  • Graft procedures (surgery)
