Even though ingrown toenail is seen toe, it can be seen in every finger including hand.

It is caused by the placing of the nail in the soft tissue.

An ingrown nail may cause damage and infection in this soft tissue.

It is often seen in shoes with a narrow tip and wrong nail cutting.

The solution is revision of nail bed.

In other words, reducing the nail bed which produces the nail.

The nail to grow in a narrow area does not sting into the soft tissue.

It may rarely reoccur.

The procedure is carried out under local anesthesia.

If there is an ingrown nail, nail removal is not a solution, nail bed should be narrowed.

Before nail ed revision, infection and fungus, if any, should be treated.

Generally, it requires resting but the process is depending on the scope of the procedure.

While some slight cases can be treated with wire, reoccurrence is more than nail bed revision.

Applications such as pedicure do not provide a permanent solution as they do not correct the nail bed.
